Foot growth, hand growth, jaw growth,
finger swelling, joint problems, tongue swelling and even internal organ swelling
are symptoms of Acromegaly, which is an overproduction of IGF1 and Growth
Hormone due to a specific pituitary tumor. In general, a Growth Hormone tumor
causes gigantism when it begins before puberty and causes Acromegaly when it
begins following puberty. That being said, having larger feet doesn’t necessarily
mean you have Acromegaly. That can be determined by an evaluation of other
symptoms and some blood tests. Also, any tumor/lesion on the pituitary gland
causes pressure on the gland and even if the tumor itself doesn’t produce
an excess of a particular hormone, it may press on an area of the gland that
stimulates specific hormone production. I have Acromegaly but when my tumor
was first diagnosed my prolactin levels were very high as well because the
tumor was pushing on that area of the gland.<o:p></o:p>

Subject: Larger Feet<o:p></o:p>
My hubby and I were talking today about the different pituitary
diseases and we were going over a list of symptoms and the various weird things
that have been going on over the years. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
I haven't read much on the specific types of disease as I don't yet know
what I have, other than a pituitary lesion of some sort that explains many of
the symptoms that have been a mystery to so many doctors for so many years.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
My foot size has changed over the last 12 years from a size 7 to a size
9. Is it possible that this is from pituitary disease or is that just
some sort of freak thing that is seperate to all the other freak things going
on?<o:p></o:p>
