Mhill- just read youer other post- Yeah- it's such a gradual decline in health that you almost get used to feeling cruddy & don't really know what's going on- The Docs are usually at a loss as to why you're feeling 'run down' (That';s how they describe it- I describe it as feeling like you're 90 in a young body frame) For 14 years I have tried to tell the docs that my 'run down' condition was NOT due to my Crohn's disease- I explained that I've had Crohn's all my life & KNOW that how I'm feeling was not due to it- but they insisted that it was- it wasn't until this past November that I started putting two and two together & thought that perhasps it might be due to adrenal fatigue because everytime I got stressed & would really crash hard. I looked it up on the net & Lo and behold I had most of the symptoms. I wrote them ALL down and brought them into a new Doc. He asked me one question- About my libido- to which I said that had died a long time ago & He said "Sounds like you might have hormone problems- let's get htis checked out' Turns out I wasn't adrenal difficient, (Although I still think I might have cortisol problems even though the tests are showing 'low normal') But rather had Acromegally :( Long Long frustrating road - but you';re right- you don't even really know it is happening- or at least 'what is happening' because of the gradualness of it & you get to point where you don't even remember what it feels like to feel good- I know I just got used to being sick almost. The worst part is that I can't even imagine feeling better again if possible. It's like I try to imagine it, but in my condition, I can't get my mind around the fact that I might be able to do something without getting totally wiped out- I'm almsot scared of feeling better because of that- Crashes are bad & they prevent me from even imagining that I might be able to do thigns without them happening |
