Funny you should say this- I addressed this and other like questions I have seen on this board with the OHSU endo yesterday and he DID say some Docs see test results and come to textbook conclusions which may not apply to that particular patient. I like hearing that he/they tailor their therapeutic approach to the patient and circumstance- I guess thats where the "art" of medicine comes in.
I had expressed my concern regarding other memebers complaints of weight gain AFTER surgery- where my understanding is that weight would/should be easier to lose and maintain after the removal of the tumor- he agreed, as long as peripheral hormones were in order. Sometimes the tests may look normal, but the body isn't acting normal- in that case you listen to the body and not just the tests. I liked that
