As posted earlier, my husband sees an oncologist tomorrow Tuesday, June 21st, to discuss our options for his radiation therapy. Can you tell us what it was like? My husband is really hoping that he will be able to work during the 4-6 weeks that the radiation will last. I know that I have been told to seek a second opinion to see if we have any other options, unfortunately, there is not a major pituitary center in the state that we live in (Washintgon State) and I belong to an HMO, which makes it very hard, if not impossible to see any providers outside of our HMO network. The surgeon that we had is very experienced in this type of tumor. He has been doing them for over 30 years. My husbands post op MRI, is showing a slight collapse. I have also been asked if a second surgery is an option, but both the neurosurgeon and the ENT surgeon are against this because it would have to be a full on craniotomy. |
