I also have Kaiser but go to an outside pituitary center. Luckily, I have 2 health insurances and the second health insurance covers the cost of the pituitary center. It might be worthwhile to pay out of pocket for a second opinion at a specialized center (Stanford and UCSF are the closest). I have found the endocrinologist at Kaiser has been more than willing to go along with the recommendations from the neuroendocrinologist at the center which has included very expensive tests and medication. You may want to check out the best docs list in Sacramento Magazine as several Kaiser physicians are mentioned there including some endocrinologists. Also I think that the main neurosurgery center for pituitary problems if you are a Northern California Kaiser member is Kaiser Redwood City so you may want to check out what is available there.
