I am on 20mg/month Sandostatin LAR for acromegaly. I am also experiencing hair loss - not clumps - but enough to be noticeable on the bathroom floor when I wash or brush my hair. I seem to be developing a bald spot on the right side of my head though it is still covered by my remaining hair. I discussed this with the neuroendo and he attributed the loss to the Sandostatin and stated that I really should have a lowered dose. As the lowered dose would probably not control my excess GH he said he would probably add dostinex. I checked the drug flyer on dostinex and you just confirmed that hair loss is also a side effect of dostinex. What the???????
