I haven't posted in quite a while... I was a fairly regular poster on the old Pituitary Tumor site.  It's been about four years since I was Rx'd with a 1.2 cm prolactinoma, which is now down to .6 cm.  I take dostinex and androgel and while my health has improved in many ways, I'm not going to settle for what I now have to put up with.

Most days I feel as if I were slogging through molasses.  I'm weak, tired, and feel stupid.  I've been tested for hypoglycemia and diabetes, HGH, and many other things.  Since my current endocrinologist was inaccessible (my next appointment had to be made more than three months in advance!), I found someone else.

This doctor is nice.  He's about my age (I'm 50), and spent some time talking to me.  He seemed to accept what I knew about my condition and didn't hesitate to talk with me like I was an informed patient.  A welcome change.

What was most interesting was what happened at the end of our time.  I mentioned that I had a terrible sense of smell.  He got very interested and told me that there's a syndrome called Krallman's Syndrome that one of the main symptoms is poor sense of smell.  I'm researching it more, but it's a possibility.  And how 'lucky' am I to have two medical issues with overlaping problems such that I need someone like Dr. House to figure it out?

I'll fill you in as I learn more.  Meanwhile, how many of you have other issues in addition to the pituitary problems?

Jim
