Good Morning All - Jason is hanging in there. The biggest issue that he has had so far is the availability of rooms at Froedtert. He had to wait to get into an ICU room, and then he had to wait to get moved to a regular room yesterday. He is campaigning big time to get out today. His neurosurgeon wants him to stay until Thursday. I think he is being cautious because he wants to make sure Jason is on the mend, but I think Jason will win the battle and should be released sometime today. I am heading for the hospital now. Jason is trying to appear fine, but everytime he gets out of bed he gets very dizzy and tired. I keep telling him it will take awhile to get his strength back. Jason's MRI will be used as a base line, but the neuro surgeon even said that it will be hard to tell exactly what is going on because of the packing that was put in. I think what was really neat was one of the ENT resident's comment that the as soon as the membrane was cut the tumor just started squishing through the hole. Like it wanted to get out of there as much as we wanted it out. At this point there is still no spinal fluid leak, and I am hopeful that Jason will be spared that particular problem. I did want to say thank you to all of you for your support and information. I do believe that the knowlege that I received from this group helped me to find a doctor that could take care of Jason. I will keep you all updated. - Chris - Ogy's Mom |
