What to do…

I’ve been feeling pretty bad over the last few months. Increasing fatigue, loss of appetite and libido, weight gain etc. I saw my endo late July and she ordered some blood tests (not as many as I think she should have.) She called a week later to say everything was normal. But over this last week, especially this weekend, I’m getting worse. I’m so incredibly exhausted that I can barely drag myself out of bed in the mornings and after less than two hours I have to take a nap. Still no appetite and definitely not an ounce of libido left. I’m also dizzy at times and getting headaches every day. They don’t feel like the tumor headaches used to feel, but they sure do hurt anyhow. Overall I feel I’m getting worse fast.

So today I marched in (dragged in) to my endo’s office prepared to demand more tests and some sort of treatment before I completely fall apart…. Turns out she’s on vacation for two weeks!!!!! I did get copies of my blood tests while there and the nurses didn’t have any suggestions as to what other doctor I could see. Go to the emergency room if you “really” feel that bad, they said. (I may have to, though I’m worried Medi-Cal won’t count it an emergency and I’ll have to somehow pay for it).

Anyhow, I’m looking at my blood test results and yes, they are all within normal ranges. The bottom of normal. And every single one is lower than a year ago and what especially gets my attention is my Cortisol. Last year it was 20.10 and now it’s 9.6. The “normal” range state is 3.09-22.40, both test were done at the same time of day at the same labs.

Is this normal? Doesn’t this show something? Shouldn’t I at least get a cortisol stimulation test and other further testing? She also didn’t test my testosterone or T4. All that was tested was Cortisol, TSH, Thyroxine Free, T3 Free, LH, FSH, GH, IGF-1 and Prolactin.

Something is definitely wrong with me. I’m sure it must be the cortisol according to my symptoms, although it could be the Thyroid gland I suppose- my neck looks swollen but it’s hard to tell if it’s the gland or the weight gain.

I’m so frustrated and tired and head hurting that I’m just randomly crying all day today. I plan to see my general practitioner first thing tomorrow morning, though I’m not sure there’s anything he could do even if he wants to. I HATE MEDI-CAL!!!.....
