Hi Sarah,

I was diagnosed with an arachnoid cyst when I was 7 yrs old and am now 37 years old.  As a result of the arachnoid cyst I have hypopituitarism also.  Over the years I have taken many medications including testosterone, prednisone, synthroid, hcg, cortisone, growth hormone.  There is a theory some endocrinologists believe and some don't, although more and more it is being proved that you should continue to take growth hormone even after you have reached your adult height.  Hypopituitary people tend to die prematuraly and the theory is that it is due to the lack of growth hormone in your body after puberty.  Although you stop growing your body still does produce some growth hormone after you have reached your adult height.  I often wonder what my future will hold also with the arachnoid cyst and the hypopituitarism.  I think that is quite common.  I think the best thing that you can do is to find a good endocrinologist for your daughter.  If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. Sincerely Kevin
