Hi Chris, good news. Glad he is doing well. I just had this test done today for the third time. I never get a sugar high. The stuff they give me tastes exactly like orange crush pop. No big deal. I get an indwelling catheter placed so I don't have to be stuck more than once. Keeps the stress down and therefore the hormone results are more reliable. The entire thing is boring. Bring something to read. Only advice I have is to watch the clock and make sure the nurse doesn't get sidetracked with another patient. Timing is important. They gave me the little buzzer thing and I buzz about 5 minutes before the next draw. Make sure they know the samples need to be put on ice after they are spun. Growth Hormone has a half life of 20 minutes so you don't want it sitting around at room temperature. Let us know how it goes. Jean in Co. |
