Hi there, I'm not suffering from this illness but my 20yr old son is. At first it was diagnosed as a "mental health problem" but 15 months later it is suspected that there may be a physical cause for his problems which are the aggression, irritation, lack of sleep or sleeping at totally different times. Extrememe bodily tiredness.........he says that he feels trapped in an old mans body, weight gain, (rapid) and lots of other symptoms. we are hoping that there is a physical cause really as we hate to think that we have to go back down the mental health route again. There is help out there but it isn't quick enough in coming. Everything seems to be moving so slowly. My son went into hospital overnight for cortisol tests in September. He also had a 24 hour urine test and we are awaiting the results. Apparently the blood tests/results have been sent to an endicronoligist in London (UK) so I'm hoping that this person will be able to tell us something soon. Soooooooooo.........no you are not alone with the mental health bit.........we understand only too well what you are feeling and I totally sympathise with you. Hope that all goes well for you, take care, Heather. (Jons mum) |
