I'm not sure abotu other pit problems, but I had Acromegally and it definately is a symptom of Acromegally (I guess due to soft tissue swelling) I snore really hard and loud before my operation (I live with my folks due to being on dissability (I have a couple of other health conditions besdies the pit tumor/ hormonal problems) & they told me I snored terrible) but after the operation, I guess I don't snore nearly as loud and have noticed that my panic attacks have subsided quite dramatically (Although I still get them once in awhile- but at leaast it's not every night now- I'd bolt awake most nights feeling like I wasn't breathign right & it would take me a few minutes to calm down from the panic feeling). My guess is that what you're experiencing is panic attacks possibly due to apnea, but that's just a guess on my part
