Hi Everyone, I need help battling my insurance company. I had a craniotomy for a non-functioning pituitary tumor in July 2005. My doctor and hospital bills total $150,000. My insurance is stating the my tumor was pre-existing and will not cover any of the charges. I was on Dostinex for two years prior to my surgery. My doctors say that yes my tumor was there for two years but stated my situation was similar to someone's appendix bursting. My tumor burst and started bleeding and I was in an emergency surgery situation. Has anyone else encountered insurance issues? How did you handle it? I'm appealing the insurance company's decision and I just feel sick thinking I may be responsible for a $150,000 bill. Any advice would be appreciated! Jen |
