I have acromegaly with a 30# weight gain since the surgey in 12/04. I also have problems with reactive hypoglycemia that drives me to eat. I met with a dietician a few months ago and she gave me good advice. She is actually the first person to take the reactive hypoglycemia thing seriously. The endos just blow it off and tell me that my numbers are not low enough. Hey! I get significant symptoms - shakey / sweaty / weak / can't think. I am eating very small meals every 2-3 hours. I have lost 10 of the 30 pounds in the last couple of months. If you are on steroids of any kind (frequently prescibed after surgery or if you are dealing with Cushing's). They will really pack on the pounds and up your appetite. I think I will check this out on Medline and see what I find. I also think that there is a connection.
