My cortisol level was tested by my GP as an afterthought during my annual check-up. I had recently faced bad symptoms from my tumour and also fainted recentlly, low blood pressure 90/50 (I think it was 50, I never remember that number), severe stomach cramping with nausea and diarreah (sp?) that hospitalized me. I thought, "here's my answer, it's Addison's Disease" and my cortisol levels came back in the normal range. Huh? It was about 9 for me and the range is what - somewhere between 4 and 22 or something? Anyways, I wanted to know more about cortisol and testing etc. I am beginning to think I need to be more diligent in knowing all my blood work levels and understanding it. This is leading back to getting a GOOD endocrinologist again, isn't it? ![]() |
