Hi I'm Sally from NSW Australia.

I had Thomas 8 months ago, he was flown out to Brisbane Hospital after a
basic total shutdown. We were very lucky he was in the Nursery when this all
happened. After 5 days and various tests he was diagnosed with Panhypopit,
then a week later with Septo Optic Dysplasia. We spent a month in hospital
with him and since we've been home he has been on Cortisone 3 times daily,
plus Thyroxine once a day. His sugar readings have gone crazy lately and the
Doctors have arranged for GH, so hopefully all the readings will settle down
and we can then reduce the Cortisone.

We have great support here from Vision Australia, but I am still in need of
advise if anybody can help. I wan't to know what to expect, if there are any
side effects from the treatments that he is taking and what can I do along
the way. He is a huge chubby baby but his growth in length has slowed lately
and he has fallen off the chart, will the GH have an immediate impact and
does it really help out to stabilize the sugar readings that are stressing
me lately.

If anybody knows of some good reading, or people to email, I would greatly
appreciate this as at the moment I am a very concerned Mum.
