Hi Mazza,
I understand your predicament completely. I also gained a lot of weight in a short time period. I was 123#s (size 6) and I gained weight til I ballooned to 167#s (size 16.) It was very depressing to see my weight climb so quickly. In 2005, I gained 30#s. I had to keep buying bigger clothes every month. I usually (pre-Cushing's) only fluctuated 5#s a year. I was a healthy weight pre-Cushing's. I had a lot of energy and ran 5-7 miles a day and worked out 5 days/week. Now I cannot walk 1/4 mile without fainting or vomiting.
It feels awful to be out-of-control of your weight. I ate little and still gained weight. My weight gain was explained with Cushing's disease. Have you had your cortisol and thyroid levels tested?
I now have the complete opposite problem-I cannot stop losing weight. I am now smaller than a size 6. I had a laparoscopy in May and I have not been able to eat normally ever since. My stomach/intestines are partially paralyzed. I do not know the cause, but I have lost over 30#s since May. I do not recommend this diet!
My best advice is to have all your hormone levels tested. You may be hypothyroid. What did your MRI show?
Take care. I hope you find your answers soon!
