This was posted previously.... In the article it states "Of seven antipsychotic medications, risperidone (trade name Risperdal), was linked to 70 percent of pituitary tumors reported to the FDA's Adverse Events Reporting System <http://www.fda.gov/cder/aers/default.htm> database."Meaning that of seven anti-psychotic drugs tested, 70% of those tested developed Pituitary tumors. So that would mean that caution should be used in taking antipsychotic drugs when you already have a Pituitary tumor. Btw...I had hair loss due to Pit tumor and/or Hypothyroidism. While reading the insert for Rogaine for Women......one of the side effects was an increase of Prolactin production. So that along with the fact that the percent of hair growth was minimal, I did not take it. |
