Hi,

I was just informed by me Endo that me Cortisol is low and she wants me to start taking a low dosage of Prednisone.  I had two tests for Cortisol and they both show a decrease in my Cortisol level.

I am looking for an alternative med to take the place of the Prednisone.  I read some on the side effects and they are not "body" friendly.

I had surgery for a non-functinonary tumor in 1993 and Gamma Knife in 2002. I can only guess the low Cortisol could be a result of the Gamma Knife or the pituitary is on its way "out".

Anyway, I am looking for information on alternatives before I am forced to take the Prednisone.

Thanks!
