Hi Robert,
It is a shame that it is so common and yet the awareness is nill even amongst medical professionals.  It is terrible for men, cause it goes undetected longer and by then the tumor is large.

But for women, we are told to go to a gynecologist when we become women, but they ignore the signs and even when they see blood test results that indicate it.  I went to five gynecologist that had the same test results as the one endocrinologist that I finally went to.  The gyns all said "...it is just in your head....don't worry".  The Endo found out WHAT was in my head.

I didn't know about Pituitary tumors, but I really didn't know where the Pituitary was and that there were Endocrinologist.  So I really was in need of awareness.

I don't want to rain on your parade, but have you checked out the Pituitary Network Assn website  http://www.pituitary.com they have been around for at least 20 yrs and are a huge resource of information.  Ken Baker, journalist, who had a large Prolactinoma wrote the book "Man Made".  He was on Oprah and was suppose to make a movie.
Robert Knutzen is the founder of the Pituitary Network Assn., so there must be something in the name.
PNA has a lot of connections with the medical community and corporate sponsers.  Celebrities such as Ken Baker and Della Reese have written on the website.  Della Reese's daughter was one of the unfortunate people who had a cancerous tumor of the Pituitary that took her life.
The PNA has a Pituitary Patient Resource Guide 4th Edition it is available as a book and as a CD.

There is also The Pituitary Society website  http://www.pituitarysociety.org/  I know less about them, but you might want to check them out too.

Good luck to you!
