I was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease about 2 months ago. My PCP didn't know what to do with me. My endo deals mostly with elderly diabetic patients. I saw a neuro who seems great and has a lot of experience with pit tumor surgery, but then she left a couple days later for a 3 week vacation. I changed PCP's and the new one was just a baby, maybe 28 years old at the most. He'd never seen a Cushing's patient and didn't know anything about the PSS test (which I'm scheduled for in less than a month). I went to see a shrink who doesn't know anything about anything. I can't get it out of my thoughts and its not helping that noone around me has any experience or knowledge. How is everyone else finding ways to cope through this emotionally. I started an antidepressant, but that doesn't turn my brain off, in fact it isn't doing anything for me. I'd love some suggestions since I don't have a support group near me and I have a lot of waiting to do before my surgery. Thanks for any help, Cush34 |
