----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Pituitary Chat
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Fred Message 7 in Discussion Hi, I had my Gamma Knife procedure done at UVA and I found Dr Steiner and his staff excellant. He explained everthing in detail and I could not ask for better treatment. I had to send my MRIs to UVA to make sure I was a candidate for Gamma Knife. After reviewing the MRI I was called to schedule an appointment with the staff. My wife and I arrived on Thursday met with Dr Steiner and he went into detail about how the procedure would work and any side effects. The next day (Friday) they attachedthe halo (ugly) to my head and then another MRI was take. Then, it was a matter of waiting until they could determine the best path to the pit tumor. After that, I was put into a tube similiar to MRI and for the next 60 - 90 mintues the Gamma Knife was doing its thing. Once done, they removed the halo, went to my room. I selpt and went home the next day and went back to work on Monday. I would highly recommend him and his staff to anyone.
