----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Pituitary Chat
----------------------------------------------------------- From: DrinkingIrishCoffee Message 1 in Discussion Hello all -- I've been lurking on the boards for about 3 months and am so glad to have found this site. I've been diagnosed with a non-secreting pit. tumor (14mm) and am just feeling like my neurosurgeon is not working with me. I've had a constant headache (ranging from dull to so severe I can't sleep) since Nov 2006. I've seen a neuro-opthamologist, endocrinologist, had 4 MRIs, CT Scan, carotid artery scan and lots of bloodwork. Everything checked out ok as far as I know and both the endo. and opthalmologist cleared me for surgery. My neurosurgeon wants me to wait 6 months, have another MRI and see if the tumor has grown. I don't want to wait as these headaches are controlling my life. I work full-time (office setting) and it's getting so that I can barely think some days. My boss and coworkers have been great but I know they are tired of me missing time for appts and sitting at my desk looking like I want to cry. After much resistance from me (and my husband), my neuro referred me to an ENT surgeon in Tampa. My appointment is next week. I just don't have a good feeling about this at all. I feel like he also might suggest waiting 6 months. I am wait listed at the Mayo clinic (in Jacksonville Florida) for a consultation with their endocrinology department but I am at the point now where I just want the surgery. Any thoughts, recommendations for surgeons or endocrinologists in the Tampa Bay area of Florida?? (I'm not too fond of my endo but could not get an appointment for a month for the one that was recommended to me) Thank you in advance!
