All the best to you Sarah. I had surgery in 2003. Think positive and get lots
of rest after the surgery. Don't try to do too much too soon! This group helped
me when I had surgery too. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Sincerely,

Marcia

I was diagnosed with a pituitary macroadenoma (28x24x24mm) and acromegaly (IGF1
574 ng/ml) in May. I will be having surgery on August 9 by Dr. Brooke
Swearingen
at Mass General Hospital. My endocrinologists are Drs. Nachtigall and Makimura
at MGH. I have probably had the tumor since 1993/1994 and I am now 34 (and
trying to chase after my 17 month old daughter). I had no idea that all my odd
health problems were related, and I naively thought that everyone's feet never
stopped growing. I had never heard of acromegaly or any other pituitary
disorder
before. The pituitary chat groups have been of enormous help to me -- it's such
a relief to realize that I am not the only person who has such a thing and to
learn about other people's experiences. It would bring me great comfort to
know that others were thinking of me as the surgery approaches. Dr. Swearingen
gave me a 60% chance of getting it all out. I will let you know how it turns
out. Sarah
