----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Pituitary Chat
----------------------------------------------------------- From: RobertC2968 Message 1 in Discussion Hey all, It's been a while since I posted, so I thought I would stop by and say hi. I had transphenoidal resection on June 13 at UF/Shands with Dr. Roper. Had a CSF leak during surgery, and had lumber drain. Hospital stay jumped from overnight to six days. Also included was 5 days of diabetes insipidus (which also included the ever-famous Catheter), BAD spinal headaches post-lumbar drain, and tiredness. Post-op blood work showed Prolactin levels at 70, down from 250. All other abnormal labs including thyroid and testosterone, remained unchanged. Here's the bad part: Just had my first post-op MRI yesterday. Got the films and report today and here are the results: Tumor decreased in size from 1.4x1.6x1.9 to 1.0x1.0x1.2 (So it's still there :( ) I'll be going back in a few days for my last post-op appt. What to do? I feel kinda let down that the whole tumor isn't gone. Even more un-nerving is the fact that the tumor isn't that much smaller after all I went through. What do you all think?
