----------------------------------------------------------- From: PTResearcher2 Message 3 in Discussion Hi PT, I am glad that they are continuing to test you. Have you had any imaging done? I hope your insulin test goes well. I'll be praying that they do not find an insulinoma or any other pancreatic/digestive tumor. How do you treat your hypoglycemia? With diet? I have bouts of hypoglycemia and I try to eat smaller meals more frequently (if I can.) I had a pancreatic MRI/MRCP in November and it did not show any pancreatic tumors, whew. It did show a gallstone in my bile duct, so gallbladder surgery was recommended. They are still looking for tumors in my digestive system. I have an endoscopy, colonoscopy, small bowel biopsy, and endoscopic ultrasound scheduled for Thursday. Ugh. I am not sure what my GI is specifically looking for. Hi Tina! How are you?? To answer your question, MEN 1 testing is a lot of testing. I was diagnosed with MEN 1 earlier this year. I had a parathyroidectomy in August. I have had a known pit tumor since 2002; cyclical Cushing's diagnosed in June 2005. Now, they are looking for digestive tumors. I have/had known tumors on my pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, and ovaries...as well as lipomas and a pre-cancerous tumor on my skin. MEN 1 testing is continuous testing and continuous surgeries/treatments. There is a good video on MEN 1: http://www.amend.org.uk/men1video.asp Take care. You'll be in my prayers, PT & Tina!
