----------------------------------------------------------- From: Bilingualpi Message 10 in Discussion You will be happy at UCSF with Dr. Blevins and/or surgeon Dr. Sundeep Kunwar. Where you have to pay close to your treatment. Surgery went well but it was the follow up care that went wrong. I left after one day developed water diabetes and felt crappy. This happens to 5% patients according to Dr. Blevins. I went to the ER twice during the weekend and they call the endo resident on call at UCSF and the resident prescribed a nose hormone spray which would stop this, but he failed to page Dr. Blevins. This issue can not be detected at ER. I ended up in the hospital again because I was suppose to take one spray and that was it not four until I was able to see Dr. Blevins I ended having very low sodium to the point where it can be dangerous. Dr. Blevins said he should have been paged. The moral of the story, if you have surgery at UCSF make sure you have Dr. Blevins 1800 number to page him. This was not given to me when I was released. I hope this does not scare you but just a word of advice. ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/PituitaryChat/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
