Hello! I wanted to tell you that I had some of the same symptoms that you had
in the beginning. I had a non-functioning 3.1 cm macroadenoma. I had Prolactin
levels about the same as yours. I stopped getting my period at age 38, and, I
had terrible headaches from time to time. Also, my cortisol was low.

I had surgery in 2003. I've been doing quite well ever since, only having to
take thyroid meds. I do not tolerate GH well, and I decided against HRT for the
lack of female hormones. (too many negative side effects)

You need a good endo, and a good surgeon. I'd get two or even three opinions.
Your tumor is not as large as mine was, but, hopefully, you've caught it early,
and you can stop the damage from getting any worse! I'm wondering why you do
not want to go to the Cleveland Clinic for treatment?

Please let me know if you have any more questions. I'll be happy to help if I
can.

Thank you everyone for feedback...i was newly diagnosed in November...cortisol
levels were low...2.8...they preformed a quick stim test in which i
passed.-28..so they said 'false positive'..., prolactin slightly high at the
time, 29...Girl hormones OK, GH OK, Thyroid was within 'normal' limits...no new
panels since Nov 2007, but i went through a sudden menopause literally
overnight.... started HRT, then had to quit within a month because i started
producing female hormones all by myself again..so, yeah, i think i'm messed
up...i have been fighting with Endo to do new panels....OBGYN took thyroid and
prolactin level blood work today...i don't have a PCP that knows which end is
up...trying to change endos is HARD to do when i am tied into OSU Medical
Clinic....i don't want to go to Cleveland Clinic, but might have to????
Pinzone
was my original endo, but then they passed me off onto someone else...so next
visit, i told my current endo to have him present///BTW, no appt has been
scheduled!!!!!!yet!!!!! and it's almost June (don't worry, i am making this
happen)...but,i think that is wierd that they would want to wait a year on a
newly diagnosed person.....even if i have been diagnosed with a
'non-functional'
adenoma...the thing is almost a macroadenoma at .9cm...so i need all of your
expertise in this...i also refer to the PNA website, but the moderator there is
like Hitler...so i just use it for info only. Bought their dumb book for 60.00
bucks in which all the information in it is free on the net...live and learn,
huh??
