My wifes Meningioma did cause adrenal insuficiency or low cortisol even though
it is not a Pit tumor it still sits above it . That is how we were able to
have insurance cover a majority of surgery cost. She received some high dose
dexamethasone in the hospital 24 milligrams a day then weened off in one week
middle of Dec 07. Now she has the same issues as you both speak of. Her
headaches come in clusters then go away. She swells, could sleep for days and
still be tired. Then some days she could go and go. I know she wants to be
done with doctors for a while but I believe she needs some more blood / hormone
test completed. I was the one who suggested a hormone panel / cortisol level
to the doc the first time so we are going back next Thursday to see if he will
retest. I truly believe the tumor is still causing issues even though so much
of it was removed. She did well with the surgery and what was left in was done
so to prevent any berve damage. Dr. Hrayr Shahinian did her surgery. ANywho I
guess I just need to find out were to look for the test to ask to be ordered.
She is following with a neuro-oncologist even though it is non-cancerous. ANy
help with sites are direct info would be greatly appreciated.
