I have had three MRI's, all read by different radiologists and an octrotide scan which detects all tumors in the body. All the tests showed no tumors. My doctor finally got the ok through insurance to switch my pharmacy back to the original and when he ordered the octreotide without mannitol he was told that they stopped manufacturing it that way. Now I am back to square one. The generic forms of sandostatin are not all formulated the same. Each manufacturer differs. My endo offered me somavert or pev(something) but I researched the formulas and both have mannitol.. I am willing to travel wherever needed but insurance wants me right here where it is cheap I suppose. I am on state insurance since I am not working hardly at all. There is only one endocrinologist in this entire area and she is not doing anything to help me. She is infamous for telling me to look up the info myself online. Went to the doctor today. Pneumonia still there. On breathing device at home to help. Tomorrow I need an ultrasound of my thyroid. It is sore and making it difficult to swallow. Thank you all for info and prayers.
