Alerts briefly show at wrong location when opened

Fix For: 1.4.1
Occurs on newer Java versions on Mac OS X 10.6. When a new alert (or dialog) is
opened, the window may momentarily appear at 0, 0 and then shift to the center.
Possible fix is to set the dialog's visibility to false when it is opened and
then reset it to true after it has been repositioned.
