The workaround in pixman was removed in 9c19a85b0037d48fdd180a2c59ef05bdc4f46680. You might try to add that patch back in. I don't remember precisely what the bug in the X server was, but it had to do with the server creating both images and clip regions that were at the wrong offsets, which cancelled each other out due to a bug in pixman.
