Package: libclamav11

Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Tried to install Clamav 1.0.0 to try and fix libclamav9 bug #1027130.

When I try to install, aptitude/dpkg returns ths error:

Preparing to unpack .../libclamav11_1.0.0+dfsg-1_amd64.deb ...
Unpacking libclamav11:amd64 (1.0.0+dfsg-1) ...
dpkg: error processing archive
/var/cache/apt/archives/libclamav11_1.0.0+dfsg-1_amd64.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libfreshclam.so.2', which is
also in package libclamav9:amd64 0.103.7+dfsg-1+b2
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/libclamav11_1.0.0+dfsg-1_amd64.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of clamav:
 clamav depends on libclamav11 (>= 1.0.0); however:
  Package libclamav11:amd64 is not installed.

I am unable to delete libclamav9 due to cyrus 3.6.0-1 dependency.

I expected this to be fixed. Let me stare at this today if I find some
time.

Yes. So This overwrite problem has been fixed in -2. But it will force a
removal of libclamav9 so it won't help you with your cyrus thingy.
You could argue that I should have split libfreshclam in its own package
but clamav will ask for clamav-daemon and the latter for freshclam which
in turn asks for libfreshclam in its version (which would be >= 1.0.0).
So even with the split it won't change much. You have to wait for the
transition in unstable.

Regarding #1027130 I will take a look. I did expect to be resolved with
the libtfm migration in testing. But if this is not case then I need to
take a look. I assumed I need only close the bug and write *why* but it
needs more…

Sebastian
