Steve, Just tried to update clamav-milter and the other clamav programs to the new version you put out. We are running "Etch" here and the new version 0.95.1+dfsg-0volatile2.
Anyway I cannot find out what command lines are valid for the clamav-milter program. The defaults that I had in the /etc/default/clamav-milter OPTIONS="--max-children=10 -oldq --timeout=300 --no-check-cf" made it puke. Other problems, when I removed the options in the default file and started the /etc/init.d/clamav-milter start I got: Starting Sendmail milter plugin for ClamAV: clamav-milter/usr/sbin/clamav-milter: unrecognized option `--pidfile' ERROR: Unknown option passed ERROR: Can't parse command line options failed! I took out all the --pidfile in the start up script and I did manage to get the program started but sendmail complained about the milter socket. So I edited the /etc/mail/m4/clamav-milter.m4 file to show the proper socket. Now when a mail is send out from this server, the syslog used to show: Apr 28 06:31:36 smtp sm-mta[958]: n3SDVXtr000958: Milter add: header: X-Virus-Scanned: ClamAV 0.94.2/9298/Tue Apr 28 04:47:45 2009 on smtp.gssf.org Apr 28 06:31:36 smtp sm-mta[958]: n3SDVXtr000958: Milter add: header: X-Virus-Status: Clean Now it just shows: Apr 29 04:15:01 smtp clamd[31852]: fd[11]: OK And I see nothing about a virus scan when the message shows up on the other side in the message headers. Look at the headers of this message and see if there is a header showing the virus scan. Anyway that is what I have. I'm going to hold off on updating my other mail servers till I get this figured out.
