Package: clamav-testfiles
Version: 0.60-6
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

from 0.54 to 0.60, output of clamscan for clamav-testfiles has changed
since rar processing has been added.

Please consider adding reference output of a successful clamscan run
to the package for comparision. Maybe it would be possible to include
a script that checks integrity of the clamav installation by scanning
the testfiles and returning an easily parsed value "ok/not ok". That
way, external packages wouldn't need to be adapted when clamav output
changes.

Greetings
Marc

As far as I know, this API exists already:
clamscan -d /path/to/database /path/to/testfile

If the return code is 0, the database is OK and no virus was found, if the return code is 1, a virus was found, and if the return code is 2, there was a problem.

Therefore, I'm closing this more than 10 year old bug report now.

Best regards,
Andreas
