There is a lintian warning about debian/copyright:
W: tomsfastmath source: missing-field-in-dep5-copyright copyright
(paragraph at line 5)
This can be fixed by adding a 'Copyright: Tom St Denis' line, even
though it is public domain.
Additionally the debian/*.dirs are not necessary and could be removed.
I poked the Debian maintainer of the libtommath package before the ITP
and I haven't heard from him since so I guess we won't be on board.

Did you try building clamav against this library?
