Good catch and thanks, I hadn't heard of that before and it'll be useful in other projects. Please post details of that tool upstream - without it or going through the code in detail you can't know easily if any new version of libsword has an ABI change. I'd suggest 1.6.2 fo the soname bump if there wouldn't be problems with that.
