I intended to do that when I submitted the BR, but hit :wq too early.
I then continued actual work (after downgrading devscripts) and can now no 
longer reproduce it.
The package was kernel-wedge, but I doubt that really matters.

Maybe it was just some unconscious command typo (born out of frustration) in 
vim that pasted the copy buffer to the bottom of the file.

As I can no longer reproduce and there's probably insufficient info, I'm 
closing the report.
