Sorry, I forgot to CC the bug, so my message only went to control.

My laptop doesn't have an /etc/mailname, so the changes don't fix the
problem by default.  However, if I explicitly set the HELO via
--smtp-helo on the command line or BTS_SMTP_HELO in ~/.devscripts, bts
starts working again.  I guess I can live with that, though I wish bts
could work with less configuration.

One idea: if /etc/mailname does not exist, how about defaulting to the
domain name part of $DEBEMAIL or $EMAIL?
