Package: devscripts Version: 2.10.43 Severity: wishlist File: /usr/bin/debcheckout
[ type of bug report: reminder to self ] When migrating from a VCS to another, users are faced with the annoying drawback that stable releases can have out of date information wrt Vcs-* fields. In that case, debcheckout is likely to fail, and requires maintainer to keep around empty repos with README files pointing to the new repo. This can be solved by equipping debcheckout with lookup of Vcs-* fields from the PTS, using the new SOAP API [1]. Also, I've never been happy with the current ugly "apt-cache search ... | grep ..." approach. Cheers.
