The resulting source tree should be the same as dpkg-source -x *.dsc
In this sense, uupdate does not apply quilt patches even if there is
debian/source/format with "3.0 (quilt)". This is a bug.
Things to do are:
00, check to see quilt is there. if not, die.
0. export QUILT_PATCHES=debian/patches
1. check existance of debian/source/format and its content.
2. if "3.0 (quilt)", run "while quilt push; do quilt refresh; done"
By doing this way, at least, simple fuzzes are removed and source is
ready for debuild. ("quilt push -a" is not as good.)
Of course, more can be done such as converting old quilt based and
dpatch based packages. That may be too intrusive to some people to get
repulsive reaction, though I like to see them.
(Oh, of course, adding support to -p *.debian.tar.gz is something we
would like to see ... as wish list but not as high priority)
