Package: devscripts
Version: 2.10.64
Severity: normal
Hey,
I'm using a debian/watch file for anjal, which has the following
content:
version=3
http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/anjal/([\d\.]+)[13579]/anjal-([\d\.]+)\.tar\.gz
debian uupdate
When I run:
uscan --debug --force-download --destdir ../tarballs
I get:
[…]
uscan debug: matching pattern
(?:(?:http://ftp.gnome.org)?\/pub\/GNOME\/sources\/anjal\/)?([\d\.]+)[13579]
-- Found the following matching hrefs (newest first):
0.1/
0.1/
0.3/
0.3/
uscan debug: newest_dir => '0.1'
uscan debug: requesting URL http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/anjal/0.1/
…
-- Found the following matching hrefs:
anjal-0.1.tar.gz
anjal-0.1.tar.gz
Newest version on remote site is 0.1, local version is 0.3.1+git20100216.f222280
=> remote site does not even have current version
-- Scan finished
While, when loading the site, you clearly see that there is a
0.3/anjal-0.3.2.tar.gz which should have been picked. I'm not exactly sure why
0.3 is ordered *after* 0.1, so I guess there's a bug here.
If you need more info, please ask.
Cheers,

The “([\d\.]+)[13579]” should be “([\d\.]+[13579])”. With the current
pattern, the matched portion of the directories used for sorting is just
“0.”. Since that's the same for all of the URLs, no re-ordering happens
and the first URL (0.1) is followed.
