Package: devscripts
Version: 2.10.65.1
Severity: normal

Below is a transcript of an attempt to "properly" use debcommit after
preparing a package for release.

bubu...@sesostris:~/src/debian/debian-l10n/virtaal/trunk$ debcommit --release
svn commit -m 'releasing version 0.6.1-0.1'
cannot get url at /home/bubulle/bin/svnpath line 11.

svn: Opération locale sans propagation (commit), pas de message ni de propriété

svn mkdir -m 'create tag directory'
svn: Opération locale sans propagation (commit), pas de message ni de propriété

debcommit: failed tagging with 0.6.1-0.1
bubu...@sesostris:~/src/debian/debian-l10n/virtaal/trunk$ export LC_ALL=C
bubu...@sesostris:~/src/debian/debian-l10n/virtaal/trunk$ debcommit --release
svn commit -m 'releasing version 0.6.1-0.1'
svn copy 'svn+ssh://svn.debian.org/svn/debian-l10n/virtaal/trunk'
'svn+ssh://svn.debian.org/svn/debian-l10n/virtaal/tags/0.6.1-0.1' -m 'tagging
version 0.6.1-0.1'
Committed revision 2344.

As you can see, things weren't properly working when using a French
locale while they were OK after changing to C.

Damn, I didn't even notice that. Thankfully, you're more awaken than
me..:-)

Let's close this bug report as the problem very very very likely comes
from a locally broken copy of svnpath.

Thanks for your quick answer.
