Hi there!
I was working with the StumpWM Debian Git repository <http://git.debian.org/?p
=pkg-common-lisp/stumpwm.git;a=summary> and since I do not have any local copy
I used debcheckout to quickly get one.
I was quite surprised when I discovered that the local repository was not up-
to-date with what I could see on the Debian Git website:
=====
l...@gismo:~/src$ debcheckout stumpwm
declared git repository at http://git.debian.org/git/pkg-common-
lisp/stumpwm.git
git clone http://git.debian.org/git/pkg-common-lisp/stumpwm.git stumpwm ...
Initialized empty Git repository in /home/luca/src/stumpwm/.git/
l...@gismo:~/src$ cd stumpwm/
l...@gismo:~/src/stumpwm$ git log -1
commit b306f62ca6a94f17178f0e7996890809f4e4abfc
Author: Luca Capello <[email protected]>
Date: Wed Jul 23 23:02:11 2008 +0200
prepare new version
l...@gismo:~/src/stumpwm$
=====
Tryng to upgrade to the latest Git commit failed, until I found that the
solution is to substitute in .git/config the HTTP URL with the Git one
(<git://git.debian.org/pkg-common-lisp/stumpwm.git>, slightly different from
the HTTP one). Indeed, with `git clone $URL_HTTP` I get the same repository as
debcheckout, while with `git clone $URL_GIT` I get the latest commit (tested on
two different squeezes, i386 and am64, as well as on an amd64 chrooted sid).
I guess this is a bug in Git or the way Alioth is configured, but I reported it
to devscripts so the problem is known here as well. Feel free to reassign it.
Thx, bye,
Gismo / Luca

Thank you for the info, for I do not which reason hook/post-update was
not executable. And indeed a manual `git update-server-info` fixed the
problem, sorry for the noise.
Thx, bye,
