It's a complete self cleaning and passive unit (unlike regular water softeners) How does it work ? The BioCARTIS filter relies on the Nanocar+ technology, using nanotechnology applied on coconut activated carbon. The process itself requires the activated carbon to be exposed for a short period of time in a cold plasma reactor. The plasma treatment While the activacted carbon's role applied to water filtration has been known for years, the lifetime of such treatments is poor : a few weeks in most cases. When the activated carbon is treated with cold plasma, the reaction free-up the inside potassium elements(K), highly increasing the overall treatment surfaces. The result is a drastic efficiency increase, a much stronger media, and a very efficient bactericid effect. At no point, during this process, was an external material added to the activated carbon : it's still 100% natural. This operation is achieved under a 18.00O F cold plasma. With this operation, the activated carbon is not only able to remove chlorine and other pollutants, but also acts as a very strong bactericid system and limestone softener. This process has been developped with the French CNRS and received the ANVAR prime, rewarding the innovative industrial initiatives.
