Correct. K's changes are in the source base, but pkg.opensolaris.org (poo?) isn't running those bits yet, so it's not going to be serving up incremental catalogs yet, and you'd need to update your bits locally, anyway, in order to take advantage of it (which is why --full doesn't work for you -- we're not pushing bits to your machine, either). > In general, as I see putbacks announced on this alias, does it mean that > pkg.*-distributed packages are updated instantly and I can expect to see > changes after pkg refresh (or --full) or is this heads-up internal-only? The packages and the packaging servers aren't updated instantly, but the flag-day isn't internal-only. You'll only run into issues if you're running new bits (either client or server) on a image or repo that has an old catalog. For the typical end-user, they'll only be running client bits, and so when they update to the new bits, they'll need to run pkg refresh --full to make everything work correctly.
