When using IPS for user images on non-Solaris platforms for software
that is unrelated to Solaris, the .org.opensolaris,pkg name for the
local meta data repository seems a bit too OpenSolaris specific.

How about changing this to just ".pkg"?

The code could be changed to still recognize .org.opensolaris,pkg if
there is a directory by that name there. But it would only create new
user images with the .pkg directory.

This change could be done only for non-Solaris systems, but it isn't
clear that having this variation between platforms would be worth the
extra complexity in code, documentation and usage for cross-platform users.

Thoughts?
Tom
