It's great to see some real-life examples going through this list.
Ideally, it would be very instructive if Bill could post some 
"before - after" comparisons once he has converted his packages.

Could you elaborate on that?  Specifically, the traditional SVR4 approach
is to manage all packages within one image (i.e. don't use -R and manage
everything in /var/sadm/install/contents).  How does a user image
fit into this strategy?  I am specifically thinking of hands-off
installation during system installation, zone creation, etc.

Maybe I misunderstand, but I think the original intention was to fail
without creating a given account if it did not exist.  That nut is a
little harder. :-)
