The pkgsend man page seems to indicate that you can list a dependency as
'optional'[1] so it seems that soft dependencies are supported. I don't
think there is a way (yet anyway) to tell pkg install to get all these
optional packages.

Make this package version dependent on the give package FMRI.
Valid depend_types are require and optional.
